Bridget’s Flat – 8 Bedale Street
When traveling to London, you should start your journey at London Bridge Station, which is located at 8 Bedell Street, the location of Bridge Flats. A short walk from London Bridge, past the historic Golden Hind, you will arrive at Pickford’s Wharf.
The Royal Exchange
Then cross London Bridge and catch a bus to Bank Station. Get off at The Royal Exchange and walk to Threadneedle Street, where Bridge and Mark Darcy kiss in the snow at the end of the first film.
Bridget & Mark’s Snowy Kiss
Cross London Bridge and take the bus to Bank Station. From there, it’s a short walk to The Royal AccorHotels and Threadneedle Street, where Bridget famously kisses Darcy at the end of the first film. It’s a short walk from Bridget’s flat, and since it’s the middle of winter, she runs there in her dressing gown.
Chancery Lane
Return from Bank Station and take the Central Line to Chancery Lane. Then get off at the Royal Courts of Justice, secure an important TV interview with Bridget Mark.
Institute of Contemporary Arts
The Institute of Contemporary Arts is a short walk across the square from Charing Cross by bus. Kafka’s Motorbike was being published, a moment that seemed more disturbing than groundbreaking.
Italian Gardens
Finally, take the Bakerloo Line, then the Awkward Circus Line, then Lascaster Gate. From there, you can walk to The Serpentine Gallery and The Hyde Park Italian Garden, the second iconic scene of Mark Darcy and Daniel Cleaver. It’s easy to recreate the best of Bridget’s London, minus the embarrassing moments and questionable cooking! Whether you’re rekindling the feeling of love or exploring the city in a new way, our network of bus, tube and walking routes will get you there.
We’re talking about our favorite blonde bachelorette, Bridget Jones. Helen Fielding first made her famous in 1995 in The Independent, in a column depicting the life of a single woman living in London in the 1990s. Before long, in 1996, the column was turned into a novel, and then the novel was turned into a movie.
To celebrate the new movie, we’ve found some of the most iconic locations from the filming of Bridget Jones in London and beyond, and there’s plenty to enjoy, from the amazing market flats to her quirky mini-break with Cleaver and more.
Royal Courts of Justice, London
A famous freedom fighter is covering the story of Kafir Aghani, and coincidentally, they are one of Mark’s clients. He then interviews the two, very successfully we might add, which we can’t forget the famous moment when Bridget miraculously bumps into Mark Darcy while buying a pack of cigarettes just outside the Royal Courts of Justice.
The Light Bar, London
As the film begins happily, Bridget suspects that Mark is having an affair with her colleague Rebecca – not only that, but she thinks they are both different and he is embarrassing her in front of her strict colleagues. She discusses all this with her best friends at The Light Bar in Shoreditch.
The Festival: Somerset
Filmed at the same location as the iconic festival, the name of the festival that Bridget Jones goes to in the third film is never mentioned, but we can make an educated guess. In addition to the Somerset Field scenes, some scenes were taken from an actual Ed Sheeran concert in Dublin’s Croke Park.
